Fall by far is my favorite season of the year. I live for a good tonal fall look and a mean coat. And as much as I love to see the tried and true trends that circle back each year, I’m always excited for something new. This year, we’ve seen a departure from the usual neutrals and moody florals some bold and unexpected new trends. Let’s take a look at some of my favorites and which I predict will be big this season.
Furry Finds
Fur this season is not just for coats. It’s expanded from everything to bags and what I like to call outdoor slippers. Many designers like Bottega Veneta updating their cult favorite pouch bag in colorful shearling. Fendi also caught the fur frenzy on showcasing the ever popular Sunshine Shopper tote in shearling. It’s safe to say that people are about the cozy feels and I’m here for it. Grab a fun fur bag this season to snazz up a minimal outfit.
Oversized Bags
Fashion has really went from one extreme to the other. The mini bag trend is on hiatus right now in lieu of oversized bags. And when I say oversize, I mean larger than life. Some of the styles I could literally fit my entire self into. Designers like Bottega Veneta and Jacquemus have birthed new life into this trend and the fashion girls have eagerly adopted. I’m definitely here for this trend. Although I don’t think it will stick around long, I do think its worth trying out. Style with minimal and more fitted silhouettes to play up the aesthetic.
Metallics
The sparkle and shine is not just reserved for the most wonderful time of the year this go round. Designers and fashionistas alike have pulled out the shine early this year. From glitzy gold to bronze and all out high shine silver; there’s plenty ways to spread the sparkle. When trying this trend go for a minimalist approach in styling. Let your piece shoe on its on; literally. Pair it down with denim during the day or with simple shoe and jewelry for a night out.
Bright and Bold
A departure from the normal 3 month span of neutrals, brights are in. This Fall it’s all out bright and bold colors. From matching two piece sets to colorblocking in your fave bright colors. The runways were filled with the likes of hot pinks, chartreuse and bright hues of blue. If you’re not into the super bright neon trend, then try a jewel tone. Jewel tones are rich for Fall and still give you saturated color which makes for a huge impact.
Cutouts
This trend has been going strong for a few months now. In Summer we saw favorites like Cult Gaia master linen and silk dresses for the summer with major cutout action. More designers have caught on, providing lots of options to show some skin; including dresses, blazers and knits.
Chunky Boots
Now this is a carryover from last fall, but its still going strong. The girls are still loving chunky platform boots in all heights. From ankle to high shaft, a chunky boot is the right amount of cool and practicality. Bottega makes it fun by adding a pop of color to the sole. However, if you’re not as adventurous stick with a simple black or neutral like olive green or white.
