5 Great Ways to Pamper Yourself

After the last year we’ve had, everyone deserves a little pampering. The mere fact that God put you on the wake up list another day, is reason to be thankful and celebrate your life. It is always better to give than to receive, to serve than to be served, etc. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t take moments to treat yourself in life. You work hard and deserve to be pampered, even if only by yourself. I love to treat myself, maybe a little too much (lol), but I will never regret doing it. Pampering myself is a form of self care. And because I don’t deny myself some things, it allows me to be generous in treating others. Here are five ideas on how you can pamper yourself accordingly.

Buy Yourself Flowers

Flowers are a great way to pamper yourself. They create a great ambience, liven up your home and can boost your mood. They are usually a symbol of love; so why not remind yourself how much you love and appreciate yourself. Next time you’re in the grocery store or if you pass a flower shop, pick up a bouquet of whatever brings you joy. If flowers aren’t your thing; then substitute with something else that you feel pampered with. It can be your favorite indulgent dessert or makeup products.

For me it’s candles. I love to buy luxury candles as a great way to pamper myself. Even when they’re not lit, the decorative glasses just look so pretty and engaging to look at. My favorite candle brand are those made by Voluspa. The packaging and scents are so luxurious and a great idea for a day of pampering for yourself or someone else.

Stay at A Luxury Hotel for a Getaway

Planning a short getaway at a luxury hotel is a great way to pamper yourself. Now this doesn’t mean that staying at any hotel isn’t acceptable, but a luxury hotel will have many amenities and the ambience expected for a weekend of pampering. Staying at a nice hotel, even if just for a weekend is a great time to relax, indulge in room service, soak in a luxurious bubble bath or just watch all the tv and movies you want without interruption. Sometimes being at home, you may be surrounded by clutter, or piles of work, or screaming kids. A different change of scenery is paramount in creating the atmosphere. Even though I selected the beautiful Hotel Monaco to take photos, I turned it into a mini getaway for hubby and I. Making sure I chose a boutique like hotel was important in us feeling truly pampered and luxurious.

Buy Yourself a Gift Periodically

Often times we may be waiting on others to purchase us a gift. Whether its a holiday, birthday or special milestone, we feel like that’s the only occasion in which we deserve a gift. Well this myth needs to be debunked. There’s nothing that says you can only receive gifts on certain days and that you have to wait on someone to get it for you. There’s something so rewarding about purchasing yourself a gift. It can be something you’ve had on your wishlist or just a quick pick me up gift. A new bag, a piece of jewelry, a new car. There really is no right or wrong here. I for one, try to treat myself to something I want at least once a month. Now you definitely don’t have to do it this often, it could be once a quarter or once a year. The important thing is making sure you do it.

Hire a Cleaner/Chef for a Day

Let someone else do the dirty work for a change. As women we wear many hats and it’s okay to take one or two off from time to time. Cleaning up constantly or having to cook when you come home from a long day at work can be stressful and tiring. Why not treat yourself to a break from time to time. I promise, you won’t be any less domesticated from doing this. I recently starting having a cleaning service come to my home once a month and it has truly been a godsend. They are able to do all of the deep cleaning so I just worry about maintaining; which allows me more free time overall. It can be refreshing to come to a clean home and home cooked meal that you didn’t have to prepare and simply enjoy.

Treat Yourself to A Beauty Day

In my Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliot Voice, If you a fly girl, get your hair done, get a pedicure, get your nails did” There’s nothing like a fresh hairdo or soaking your feet in a bubbling tub. It can be such a relaxing experience. I know there are times when we do these things ourselves, but I highly recommend outsourcing these tasks. It allows you to truly let loose and relax, and truly enjoy. Let’s face it, when you look good, you feel good. You feel rejuvenated and feel like your best self, ready to conquer the world. A beauty/spa day is the ultimate in pampering, and a great way to feel like the true Queen you are!
